They know that people are generally stupid - in that they are emotionally motivated and so they are expert in the framing of information that introduces doubt, division and powerlessness that then aligns in the dominant power of 'authority' or peer pressure amidst others that do - including anxious loved ones or simply group opinion.
I would be more interested to see stats on deaths from heart disease in a country or range of countries - because these are a bit more definite. Changes in ways of detecting and reporting heart disease as well as of treatments that may sometimes extend lifetimes, but perhaps add multiple entries as a result.
My father was a policeman. He once said that Deptford was a quiet place until they established a police station.
I don't hold that life can BE quantified. But that once brought or bought into such a database-mind, the true qualities of being are lost to officially prescribed narrative reality.
Once most everyone smoked. Now most everyone is on drugs. I haven't smoked in a very long time - but there were some social and even meditational moments - along with going outside for a breath of fresh air - and a fag. Fags were a primary currency of social connection and exchange. I don't miss the smell - but I miss the convivial world that is being retooled to fragmented alienated dumb user under a 'smart system'.
Some current events feel like testing to see if the 'patient' is in fact fully unconscious yet. (as in pre med anaesthesia),
I prefer to seek among the dead for signs of the living.
Sharing in the qualities of life, one willingness at a time.
